Frequency discrimination test | ||
This Windows software uses a standard sound card and speakers or earphones to test frequency discrimination ability. Two test formats are available. The frequency discrimination mode entails identifying which of two one-second tones presented in sequence has the higher pitch. The frequency modulation mode entails identifying which of two one-second tones presented in sequence is frequency modulated. Testing is centred on one of five selectable frequencies: 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000 Hz. Frequency difference or modulation can be varied in steps between 0.1 and 5.0%. Random intensity roving is imposed on the stimuli to prevent the use of intensity cues. Download Frequency discrimination test software (version 1.00 - 1.4 Mb) |
