Research

Our cochlear implant centre is fortunate to be located within the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, an internationally recognised centre for excellence in research. This allows high quality research to occur within the cochlear implant programme. The ISVR provides an MSc course in Audiology and a BSc course in Audiology.  SOECIC staff frequently present papers at national and international meetings, and work is published in peer-reviewed journals.

ISVR was awarded a 2006 Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education.

The prize is part of the national honours system and is awarded every two years to only about twenty University and FE departments across all disciplines.

It has been awarded to the ISVR for our sustained excellence and outstanding achievements in research in the field of sound and vibration.
