Time-dependent foot for acoustic scatter from the sea bed. A sound source irradiates the seabed from a low grazing angle, and emits a pulse. The beampattern of the source shades the amplitude of the sound on the bed in the lateral direction, and the limits in range of the footprint at any given time are determined by the finite duration of the pulse.
